What jewelry brands buy
Jewelry packaging is the smallest packaging a brand buys and the one it is judged on hardest. The box is opened in front of the buyer, often as a gift, so it has to feel worth more than the board it is made of.
The usual mix is a jewelry box for the piece, a gift box or a paper bag for the handover, and a suite box for a matching set.
What is specific to jewelry
- Insert — the piece has to sit still and sit straight, so the insert is die-cut or molded to it.
- Lining — velvet, suede and satin are standard, and the color is part of the brand.
- Finish — foil stamping and embossing on the lid, because the box is read close up.
- Size — the box has to be small enough not to dwarf the piece.
What to send
Send the piece or its dimensions, the quantity, and the lining color you want. The insert is cut to the piece, so the piece is the starting point.
Tell us whether it is a single piece or a set, and whether the box has to fit a bag or a shipping carton. A suite box with slots holds a matching set in one box. Quote in 24–48 hours at the 500-unit minimum.
